Below is a "poem" Tricia wrote on our flight back to the States. I think it sums up our experience. The good and the not so good ...
After ...
continous sweating
20 screaming children
a city starring since nobody else wore shorts in over 100 degree weather
5 glasses of pitaya juice (the best thing you'll ever drink)
7 gallons of oil-based paint
200+ steps to the top of a volcano that caused 50 coughing attacks due to sulfur
endless amounts of cockroaches
10 rides in the bed of Roger's truck
countless pb&j's
1 dinner that would have feed an army
5 lbs. of rice consumed
a million dogs and 2 cats
hearing fireworks, traffic, and rain at all hours of the day
hundreds of mosquito and ant bites
10 jumps off a pier into the volcano
1 rubbermaid trash can full of water to be used as a shower since water is cut off from 5pm-7am
a city full of bad drivers
1 cleaned orphanage
5 families that opened their homes to 15 strangers
and 15 changed hearts
=
one unforgetable and life changing mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua
