Future Ree Drummond

If you are wondering who Ree Drummond is then maybe you do not watch The Food Network. She is also known as The Pioneer Woman! My family is obsessed with her. My sister received two of her cookbooks for Christmas and we made a handful of her dishes over the last 3 months. Her delicious recipes are both easy to make and require ingredients that most household stores in their pantry!

This morning, I was craving a variety of foods ... eggs, bread, sausage, vegetables, fruit, and butter. I thought how wonderful the quiche Mallory and Caleb made at Thanksgiving but I didn't have the pan or abilities to make a pie crust, so here is what got created.

Quick Breakfast Quiche
Breakfast!
You'll Need: Crescent Rolls, eggs, onion, and sausage
1. In a medium skillet, carmelize 1/2 a medium white onion along with 2 sausage patties. (Now the onions did finish before the patties so I pulled them out so they won't burn.)
2. Scramble 2 eggs and sprinkle with black pepper in a small bowl.
3. When the onions finished, added them to the eggs.
4. Line a 9x9 square pan with foil and spray with a nonstick stray.
5. Open Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (I used a set of 4) but leave them in 2 large rectangles. Do not separate them into individual rolls. Lay one large rectangle onto the foil and press up 2 short sides and 1 long side (in order to hold in the egg mixture) plus mesh together the perforated line. Add the other rectangle to the other rectangle so they overlap by about 1cm. You'll mesh the perforated lines and two pieces together, plus press up the 2 short sides and one long side. ( I folded up the foil to support the dough.)
6. When the sausage is fully cooked (160oF), blot the oil off and cut/rip it into small pieces. Add it to the bowl of eggs and onions.
7. Slowly pour the egg mixture on top of the dough.
8. Bake on 350F for about 13 minutes or until the egg is firm and the crust is golden in color.

Now this recipe comes with a warning. You'll likely pawn them off to a neighbor or friend to get them out of your house. I forced my brother-in-law to take a sandwich bag full of them home. He sent me a picture the next day with probably 5 left!

Sweet and Salty Bites
Finished Product!
You'll need: pretzels, M&Ms (almonds or walnuts), Hershey Kisses (or Rolo)
1. Unwrap all your Hershey Kisses.
2. On a 9x13 baking pan or cookie sheet, lay out pretzels in lines and place 1 Kiss atop a pretzel.
3. Place the tray in a oven at 200F for about 4 minutes. The Kisses will become glossy and you'll need to watch them closely to make sure they aren't melting fully.
4. Pull the tray out and place an M&M ontop of the Kisses so the M&M logo is not displayed . You will need to press them down. The top will be melted and usually the center is not.
5. Either place them in the freeze or refrigerator for a few minutes to harden them up.

Happy Eating,
Good Golly
